Hello and welcome!
I have just completed my first year at the University of Sheffield studying law and I just had to share my journey with you! After studying law for a year, I realised I had so many hints and tips to pass on about university in general and about studying law.
I first studied law at A-Level and knew I had to learn more, which is why I chose to do law at university. Studying law can be very stressful, however, it is very rewarding and against all stereotypes: it definitely is not boring! There are all sorts of weird and wonderful cases to get your head around (imagine arguing whether a Jaffa Cake is a cake or a biscuit. Crazy right!).
In my first year of university my favourite areas of law to study were Tort and Contract. I will continue studying them going into my second year, along with Company Law, Trusts and Equity, Criminal Law and Punishment and Penal Policy.
Outside of university I love to go watch the ice-hockey and support the Steelers. I love volunteering and working with children in my spare time. I regularly volunteer at a literacy charity (Grimm and Co) as a mentor for disadvantaged children and young people. I love reading (my favourite series being Harry Potter) so going to volunteer at an ‘Apothecary to the Magical’ while helping children and giving back to society is something I really enjoy.
